Mornings can be tough, and we sometimes can dread the day ahead. Try this cognitive exercise and see if it is helpful for you!

Check In: As you open your eyes, try noticing how your body feels. What are some of your first thoughts that come up? What are you emotions? Note them…

Take it Slow: Based on your check in, what is the next thing you can physically do with the physical and mental capacity that you woke up with? Do it…no matter how small…listen to your body. Do what you WANT and CAN do; Not what you “HAVE” to do.

Start Small and Be confident: Choose one thing to focus on that will bring joy into your day. Move into your day, and your “have-to’s”, but remember to hold space, and come back to this one thing that will bring joy and purpose throughout your day.
